MAGNOLIA LOOP EXTENSION PARKS

For this project, our class collaborated with officials from Griffin County, Georgia, to explore strategies for improving citywide circulation and community connectivity. After meeting with county representatives, we identified two major issues: the lack of safe pedestrian and bicycle routes and the limited availability of accessible community spaces.

In response, our team proposed a connected trail system that weaves through the city, featuring dedicated pedestrian and bike lanes to promote safer and more sustainable movement. Along this trail, we designed a series of pocket parks and gathering spaces that act as extensions of the path—creating opportunities for recreation, social interaction, and stronger community engagement.
